Balmain
Spring / Summer 2023 Runway
For Balmain’s Spring / Summer 2023 runway show, the House collaborated with Morgane Baroghel-Crucq, drawing upon her exceptional savoir-faire to create a one-of-a-kind dress for the runway.
Developed as a sculptural textile artwork, Morgane’s woven piece was conceived independently as an artistic form, then integrated into a couture silhouette. Her silk and brass weavings introduced volume, structure, and luminosity — transforming the garment into a statement of material mastery.
Every gesture of the weave reflects a deep understanding of tension, balance, and precision. The textile becomes both surface and structure, expressive and architectural, embodying a rare dialogue between artistic research and couture expression.
This collaboration highlights the power of artisanal knowledge when approached as art — where craftsmanship transcends function to become vision.
Project led by Eddy Anemian and Kristina Loginova.
