Founded in 2017 by designer and glassblower Eve George and master glassblower Laurent Fichot, Atelier George creates collectible lighting, decorative objects, and bespoke commissions that bridge contemporary design and traditional glassmaking. Working between their Paris design studio and their glass workshop in Burgundy, the duo explores the decorative language of the living world through hand-blown glass, transforming the movements, textures, and rhythms of nature into timeless forms.

Craft
Every Atelier George piece is hand-blown using traditional glassblowing techniques, where molten glass is gathered from the furnace at nearly 1,200°C and shaped through a precise sequence of gestures, tools, and reheating. Because the material begins to cool and solidify the moment it leaves the furnace, each piece must be completed in one uninterrupted process, requiring constant anticipation of the glass's movement and behavior.
For Eve George and Laurent Fichot, glassblowing is as much a performative practice as it is a craft. They describe it as a choreography, where rhythm, timing, and the synchronization between glassmakers are just as essential as technical mastery. Rather than perfecting a single object over weeks, the duo devotes their time to refining the sequence of movements that allows each form to emerge with precision and consistency.
Their practice combines centuries-old glassmaking techniques with continuous research and experimentation.
