About the Founder

Born and raised in Epernay, France, the capital of Champagne where luxury is embedded in the everyday, Valerie Legras, founder and creative director of SWADOH possesses a unique understanding of refinement and elegance. Growing up amidst the vineyards and heritage of the Champagne region, she absorbed the essence of luxury, craftsmanship, and sophistication from her surroundings.

Graduating with a Master's in Interior and Product Design from Ecole Camondo in Paris, she further developed her creative endeavors. As a young adult, this resulted in a deep immersion in design principles, fostering a keen eye for detail, a refined aesthetic sensibility, and a profound understanding of French craftsmanship that remains deeply ingrained in her work today.

Drawing from years of experience as an interior designer, and a passion for material and material transformation, Valerie Legras embarked on a journey by creating SWADOH in 2020, an anagram of "shadow", SWADOH is driven to shine a light on creators with a refreshingly original point of view, interpreting materials and textures with both traditional and contemporary techniques.

SWADOH has the privilege of representing talented creators and engaging in collaboration with them, working at the intersection of artistic and artisanal savoir-faire (know-how) by offering innovative creation and design solutions.

From conceptualization to execution, SWADOH draws upon this rich tapestry of creativity and expertise to provide pieces of design that resonate with beauty, functionality, and timeless elegance.
