A Ceiling in Suspension

MU Studio presents a bespoke ceiling installation that redefines the expressive potential of stone within high-end interior design. Crafted from delicate sheets of white and yellow soft stone, this custom creation spans over 120 square feet and transforms the ceiling into a living architectural element.

Designed for the restaurant Le Saint Cerf in Besançon, in collaboration with Square Concept, the installation explores lightness, movement, and atmosphere. The softly suspended stone panels respond subtly to air currents, evoking the fluidity of underwater landscapes and creating an immersive, sensorial experience.

This custom stone ceiling showcases MU Studio’s expertise in bespoke architectural installations and highlights the versatility of their materials—where craftsmanship meets innovation, and material becomes emotion. Each project is conceived as a unique dialogue between space, light, and matter.

Photographed by Pierre-Emmanuel Saillard, this installation stands as a refined expression of contemporary design and artisanal precision.

For custom soft stone installations and bespoke interior design projects, MU Studio invites designers and architects to explore new creative possibilities through tailored commissions.
