  • Soft Stone is a mineral-based material derived from silica, one of the most abundant elements on Earth, commonly found in quartz, sand, and various types of rock.

Also known as silicone, this material is composed of silica combined with oxygen. It was first developed in 1938 by American researcher James Franklin Hyde at Corning Glass Works. While relatively recent compared to traditional materials, silicone represents a modern frontier with unique and versatile properties.

  • MU – Soft Stone can be gently cleaned with a damp cloth. A mild soap may also be used if needed.

Care—

SWADOH's natural brass components are unsealed. This means they will darken, cloud, or form spots from air exposure and the oils on your skin. To keep this process even, it is highly recommended to wear gloves when handling the brass. All pieces must be unpacked exclusively by a professional receiver or qualified art handler to ensure properhandling, inspection, and installation preparation.
Following inspection, we recommend leaving all packaging open until installation, allowing the natural brass to breathe and gently acclimate to its surroundings. This helps preserve the material's character and ensures an even, natural evolution of its patina.

Disclaimer—

Every SWADOH piece is meticulously handmade by our artists and carefully wired, inspected, packed, and dispatched by our team. As a result, no two creations are ever exactly alike. Variations in form, texture, color, and detail are inherent to the artistic process and are celebrated as part of each work's unique character. These subtle distinctions are not imperfections, but rather the authentic expression of the artist's hand, research, and craftsmanship.
