Harbor Lines — Hermès Hamburg

Commissioned by Hermès — Project led by RDAI

Hermès entrusted Laurentine Périlhou’s atelier with the exclusive creation of the window installations for its new Hamburg boutique. The commission comprises six large-scale panels, spanning a total surface of 100 square meters, conceived as an immersive textile landscape.

Led by architectural agency RDAI, the project draws inspiration from Hamburg’s port and maritime environment. The installation reveals an intricate structure of rope and leather cords, crafted entirely from Hermès leather stocks, and composed of 3,456 hand-tied knots.

After more than three months of continuous knotting, this ambitious project allowed the atelier to explore textile surfaces at an architectural scale, engaging directly with interior architecture and spatial rhythm.

The result is a powerful dialogue between material heritage, craftsmanship, and place—where textile becomes structure, and gesture becomes landscape.
